Public Health Emergency Management Program Resident in Kazakhstan
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and ICAP at Columbia University announce the recruitment of participants for a new training program titled Eastern Europe Central Asia (EECA) Public Health Emergency management (PHEM) Training Program. The overarching goal is to contribute to the national efforts to strengthen health emergency management systems by building the capacity of in-country workforce to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies efficiently and effectively. The Program will bring together participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Program curriculum includes a blend of workshops, online mentorship and education courses, and networking. The 2024 PHEM Training Program will run from September 2024 through March 2025. By the end of the EECA PHEM Training Program, participants will have developed competencies in applying emergency management framework models to their home country, coordination, planning, communication, partnerships, training, and evaluation. Participants will apply knowledge received during the program to create country-specific plans, recommendations, and/or projects to strengthen country PHEM capabilities. Participants will join a network of PHEM professionals, fostering the exchange of knowledge and best practices. "The position is contingent upon availability of grant funding.
