ANGA Program Community Data Collectors (CDCs)

ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks highly qualified candidates to serve as ANGA Program Community Data Collectors (CDCs) for a multi-country research project on climate, extreme weather, mental health, well-being, violence, and localized early warning systems. CDC will support high-quality, ethical, and safe community-based data collection and related field activities within the ward to which they are assigned.

The CDC will report directly to the Field Supervisor within the Anga Community Team.

The role is expected to run for approximately 27 months, subject to funding, ethics approvals, operational readiness, and satisfactory performance.

Recruitment locations in Kenya

Applications are invited from residents of the following wards:

  • Samburu County, Samburu East Sub-County, Waso Ward
  • Nakuru County, Nakuru East Sub-County, Rhonda Ward
  • Kisumu County, Nyando Sub-County, Ahero Ward
  • Kwale County, Lunga Lunga Sub-County, Bwereni Ward
  • Mombasa County, Mvita Sub-County, Chuda-Moroto Ward
  • Kisii County, Mosocho Sub-County, Kitutu Chache South Ward

Applicants must currently reside in the ward for which they are applying.

Preferred qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • I have lived in the community for at least five years.
  • Have experience serving as a volunteer or informal leader in community systems such as community health structures, women’s groups, social campaigns, advocacy initiatives, local development groups, or similar community-based activities.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and reliability.
  • Women are strongly encouraged to apply

 

Applicants who proceed to the final stages of recruitment will be required to provide proof of residence within the specified ward.
