ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks highly qualified candidates to serve as Laboratory Research Officer Eswatini Prevention Center Clinical Research Site, Mbabane Eswatini. The incumbent will be responsible for sample reception, processing and storage. The LRO oversees the lab infrastructure and processes to ensure that laboratory supplies are appropriately procured, lab samples are correctly collected, received, processed, stored, shipped and that results are returned in a timely manner. The LRO will have primary oversight over the Eswatini CRS laboratory, including ensuring that lab premises, equipment, procedures documentation and staff are compliant to local and international research standards.

ICAP seeks highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill the Laboratory Research Officer position by 1st March 2025.The successful candidate will hold an Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent, postgraduate training and advantage. Registered with the Eswatini Medical and Dental Council. At least 3 years’ working experience, with demonstrated experience with laboratory tasks described above. Experience working in a research setting is an advantage. Trained in GCP and GCLP. IATA training an advantage Knowledge of laboratory systems such as LDMS, LIS etc. Experience with rapid testing, sample preparation, packaging and shipment experience with QA, QC and PT. Prior participation in laboratory accreditation programs an advantage. Must be computer literate and able to use Windows, MS Office Package, and have knowledge of e-mail and of standard office equipment.
