The 2026 Sierra Leone Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (SiLPHIA 2026) is a cross-sectional household (HH)-based, sub-nationally representative survey conducted with support from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and technical assistance through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and ICAP at Columbia University. SiLPHIA is being led by the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Health (MoH), the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), and Statistics Sierra Leone. The survey will be implemented by Statistics Sierra Leone and ICAP in collaboration with local and international partners, including networks of people living with HIV (PLHIV) and other non-governmental organizations. SiLPHIA will provide critical data on HIV viral load suppression, HIV prevalence, CD4 count distribution, HIV-related risk behaviors, and access to prevention, care, and treatment services, to guide national HIV policy and programming.
