ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks Procurement Specialist to be based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of procurement and vendor management procedures, will provide general office and information-flow management, and secretarial and logistical support for all business-related training and other activities/events.

 

ICAP seeks highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill the Procurement Specialist position by May 1, 2024. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree and will have at least 2 years of work experience in an administrative/office management role. Experience working on the USG-funded project is preferred.

 

The Procurement Specialist will conduct bidding/tender for procurement of supplies/goods/services, prepare package of documents for payment, provide support in the collection of information and preparation of vendor profiles and payment documentation, coordinate all IT-related issues with the IT service provider, and perform other duties necessary for the effective operations of the project.

 

The successful candidates will have competence and confidence working with all the standard MS Office applications, Zoom and web-searching skills. The incumbent will have very good communication and negotiation skills.

The candidate will have good organizational skills and a systematic approach to work as well as the ability to prioritize between competing demands.

 

The incumbent will be reliable about timekeeping, keeping to deadlines and valuing the importance of paying attention to detail. The candidate will have a flexible approach and willingness to learn and adapt to new office systems and procedures. The incumbent will be fluent in English and Russian. Knowledge of Kazakh is an asset.
