ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks highly qualified candidate to serve as Safety and Access Officer – South Sudan. The job incumbent will be responsible to conduct continuous assessment of the context and guiding on risk management in the field; appropriately circulate the security guidelines and ensuring that field working practices are strong and that all staff are aware of, trained on, and adhere to the policies and procedures.

The Safety and Access Officer position is to filled by January 2022.The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree (Education – minimum of diploma in security studies Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Minimum of three years related experience in the field preferably in a similar INGO working within the capacity of Safety and Access.

The job incumbent will have technical competency in field-based communications systems such as HF Codan, Motorola VHF, Thuraya, satellite and internet systems. Integral to the position is the ability to work successfully with field teams to, engage, build capacity, thereby driving personal responsibility for safety and access management. She/he will assist in growing an information networks with other humanitarian NGOs and main State and local Government as well as field community leaders in order to facilitate and secure ICAP field operations.
